Review | Beautisol Exscrub Me? Citrus Face Exfoliant

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

I have been meaning to do this post forever but I am finally getting to it.

So I got this product for free since I am an iFabbo member and have to say I was really excited because I love exfoliating I think it is wonderful and glorious.

The package:

Front:

All skin types
Paraben free

Back:

Got alligator face? Say later gator! Exscrub dead skin with our paraben free citrus face exfoliant. Your face will be as smooth and soft as a baby's caboose in no time!

How to "Exscrub" yourself: Dampen skin and apply a small amount to fingertips and massage on to face in circular motions. Rinse well with warm water. Exfoliate your face twice a week as needed or prior to applying "Need I Glow More?" face self tanner.

Ingradients: Aqua (Water), Polyethylene (Beads), Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Jojoba Esters (Beads), Behenyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Ether, Glyceryl Stearate, Sucrose Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Squalane, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Citric Acid, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Potassium Sorbate, Carbomer, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Tocotrienols, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Phytic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Alcohol, Tocopherol (D-alpha), Passiflora Incarnata (Passionflower) Flower Extract *Certified Organic.
For starters, the packing of this product is very nice and efficient.

It's a very sturdy tube that is the perfect size for travel. When you close it the tube locks very well so you don't have to worry about it opening up in your bag or anything.

Texture:

This product comes out of the tube really creamy and you can see orange bits which presumably are the exfoliating beads. Then once you massage the product into your hands and onto your face the texture turns grainy.

Smell:

Due to the citrus in this product it has an unmistakeable orange smell which isn't too overpowering or anything and it actually pretty pleasant.

Does it work:

Since I exfoliate so much I have very high standards for my exfoliating products and there are two things that it must do:

  • Make my skin feel soft
  • Help with my breakouts
I have to say that this product does do both.

Do you like it:

I do like this product. Since I'm allergic to citrus I was a little nervous about using this product because I really didn't want to break out, but I'm happy to report that didn't happen.

Would you re purchase:

While I do like this product and I completely recommend it to anyone who wishes to try it I personally won't be repurchasing it because I currently in a relationship with the St. Ives Apricot Scrub which is my main squeeze.

Well guys that is it for my review!

How often do you exfoliate and what are your favorite products to use? Let me know in the comments!

Be safe and I'll see you in my next post!

Review: Olay Fresh Effects Exfoliating Cleanser

Happy Friday!

Today I am doing a review on a product that was in my May 2014 Favorites and it is the Olay Fresh Effects Bead Me Up! Exfoliating Cleanser.

So let's get started.

The purpose of this product is not only to wash your skin but also to exfoliate it and that is what the beads are for.

This cleanser has a nice fragrance if you notice it. It isn't very strong so you might not notice unless you are actually smelling for it.

It has a really nice consistency, it isn't too watery which I really appreciate. There are little scrubby beads so you will feel those on your skin but it doesn't hurt or anything and after you have been washing your face for a while the beads dissolve.

Packaging is really pretty, I really enjoy the design on the front because it reminds me of something a child would draw. It isn't too hard to open or anything like that but I also haven't been having any problem with it bursting open so it travels well.

It is a regular size for a facial cleanser so if you are going to travel with it I would transfer it to a smaller container if you want to save space.

This product makes my skin feel really nice and smooth after I wash it and I think it is because of the exfoliating beads, it really gets off all of the dad skin.

This product works really well for me. I am noticing a big difference in my skin. My breakouts are clearing up but it also just feels smoother and it looks better in my opinion

I would say that this product works well with all skin types. I have sensitive skin and it works great for me.

I feel like this product falls into a younger age group, probably from early teens to early 30s but everyone could certainly use it.

Because of the thickness of this product I find myself not having to use very much of it to get my face really clean so this product will probably last a while even with using it twice a day.

I really recommend this product to anyone who is looking to try something new for their skin or if you are having problems with your acne.

I like this product because I really feel like it gets my skin clean and also it exfoliates my skin so I don't feel like I have to buy a separate product to exfoliate which helps me save money.

I can't say that there is anything that I didn't like about this product, the only thing that i found strange was that there were no bubbles but that's not a big deal.

I bought this product because I ran out of my normal face wash and I couldn't find it anywhere so I really needed something on a short notice and this was on sale at CVS Pharmacy.

I would definitely buy this product again I am very happy with it. I got this product at CVS Pharmacy for $4.99 but normal price is $7.99.

Pros:
Thick
Exfoliates and cleans
Works well with all skin types
Simple fragrance
Nice packaging
Lasts long

Cons:
No bubbles
Not optimal size for travel
A bit pricey

Well guys that is it for this post!

What do you guys think of this product? Let me know in the comments.

Be safe and I will see you in my next post!

GUEST POST: How To Protect Your Skin In Winter by Melisa Marzett

Everybody knows that our skin needs special care to stay moisturized, fresh and young. But what is more important is to consider the season and to choose special care according to it.

Winter care needs special attention, especially if you live in the regions where the winters are strong. It’s not a hard task to have a right winter care for your skin though, all you need is to develop a certain routine.

Here are some tips to help you understand what exactly your skin needs in winter:

  1. Drink enough water. Any moisturizer won’t help you, if your body is dehydrated. Remember to keep your water consumption between 6 and 8 glasses a day
  2. Use creamy, gentle, non-fragrance facial wash. Fresh and antibacterial ones are a good bet for summer, but in winter they will irritate the dry skin. Washing is one of the main steps of facial care, so make sure that your soap will make your skin feel comfortable in winter.
  3. Wash with warm water, not hot. When you wash with the hot water when it’s cold outside, you get the risk of breaking capillaries and damaging your skin.
  4. Use the sun protection even in winter. The sun didn't disappear and the snow also affects, so use the cream with SPF filter.
  5. Pick a winter lip balm, the one with sun screen will be perfect. Make sure that in contains natural oils to soften your tender skin and prevent cracking.
  6. Buy a good moisturizing cream, the one for winter will be best. Even if you don’t use
  7. the moisturizer in warm seasons, in winter your skin really needs it. Pick the one that contains as little chemicals as possible, and let it be fragrance-free.
  8. Don’t take hot showers. Of course, in winter you’re willing to make the water as hot as possible, but remember that it dries your skin. Warm water will be much healthier alternative.
  9. Dress accordingly. Always dress to feel yourself comfortable in low temperature. Get dressed in layers - it will help you to keep heat.
  10. Don’t keep the air temperature too high. Hot air dries your skin as well as hot water does. So, turn down the heat up to the point you feel comfortable.
Your hands also need special care! We wash hands more often that we wash face, that’s why they are even more dehydrated. To prevent skin crackling, use hand cream after every wash. Grab the gloves every time you go out - but make sure they don’t irritate your skin.In winter our skin needs special care as well as special attitude. But it’s up to you to keep the skin moisturized and healthy looking!

November Favs! (:

Hello beauty lovers I am back with another post and this is going to be my November Favorites. I do not have a lot of favorites this month because I did not try a lot of things but the ones that I did try and that I really enjoyed I am going to show you in this post!

So let's get started!

First is this Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation and I have the shade 340. The reason I love this foundation so much is because it's really quick and simple and easy to apply and it's really a timesaver in the morning when I am scrambling to get ready for school.

Also just like the liquid and powder versions of this foundation it matches my skintone extremely well. If you want to see my review on the liquid and powder foundation click here.

Next on my favorites is the Maybelline Makeup Removing Lotion and the reason I wanted to try this is because I do not think that my skin gets fully clean if I just cleanse it. I feel like I have to remove my makeup first and then cleanse my skin for it to get really clean. So I use this to remove my makeup before cleansing my face and I really like it because all I have to do is take a small amount of it, rub it on my palms, rub it on my face and then wipe it off with a napkin and it's really a timesaver.

The next two products on my favs are very closely related. The Arganesse Hair Treatment and the Organix Argan Oil Hair Treatment and the reason that I have these two products on my favorites is because Argan oil has become one of my favorite oils to use on my hair.

Argan oil is great for taming frizz and adding shine to my hair. Also it is very lightweight and it doesn't make my greasy or weigh it down at all.

They're both amazing products and I recommend them both for whoever wants to try Argan oil!

Another one of my favorite products for the month of November is the Shea Moisture Style Curl Milk and I started using this because I wanted a product that was going to define my curls and keep them lasting longer so I wouldn't have to keep redoing my hair every night. And I was really pleased with this product because not only did it moisturize my hair but it also elongated and defined my curls which I really love.

Another product that I have been using from my hair in the month of November is the Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Intensive Moisture Treatment and actually have not been using this as a deep conditioner I've only been using it has a leave in conditioner for my hair after I use the Organix Argan Oil Hair Treatment and the reason that I don't use it as a deep conditioner is because I already use the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Mask and I just feel like my hair needs a little bit more moisture throughout the week and it works great as a leave in as well.

I do not wash it out and it does not leave my hair sticky or crunchy or anything like that so I'm probably gonna continue using as a leave in and stick with my Shea Moisture Treatment Mask for my deep conditioner.

Well guys that is it for this post! (:

Have you tried any of these products? Whats on your November Favs list? Let me know in the comments or leave your link down below and I'll check it out (:

#TheSkinProject: Exfoliating

Hello beauty friends I am back with another post for #theskinproject and this post is going to be about exfoliating.

Now a lot of people don't exfoliate because they don't know how beneficial it is to your skin. When you exfoliate you're not only cleansing your skin but you are getting off all the dead skin cells that just sit on top of your face.

You can follow Lianne on Twitter, also if you want to get involved with the #TheSkinProject or just want more information check out her post here!

So let's get started with my favorite products I like to use to exfoliate!

The first is from Dermologica and it is their daily microfoliant and I really like this exfoliator because not only is it really fun to use but it also gets those dead skin cells off of my face and actually makes my face feel a lot smoother and a lot softer after I use it.

I got the travel size in my goodie bag when I went to the iFabbo social media conference but I actually went back to the website and bought a full-size after that one was gone.

It really is one of my favorite products to exfoliate my face. The only thing about it is that I have to use more moisturizer than I do usually because I feel like it dries out my skin a little bit but that's not a huge deal to me.

The next exfoliant I use is actually a DIY exfoliator that I make myself and all I do is take some brown sugar, some honey and olive oil and I'll mix them together until it gets to a pasty consistency but it's not too oily and then just take it and I actually use this exfoliator all over my body.

So I'll get in the shower and I wash my body then I'll use the brown sugar scrub all over my body and it makes my skin feel really soft and because of the honey and the olive oil my body actually is smoother and softer and I don't feel like my skin is really dry after I use it.

Also the reason I like doing the do-it-yourself exfoliant is because first of all I know that the products are all natural. There's no chemicals involved, there's no processing and I just really like how it makes my skin feel.

So usually I'll use the microfoliant on my face and I'll use the brown sugar scrub all over my body.

At the very least I exfoliate my skin two times a week. On a good week I'll exfoliate my skin four times a week and the reason for that is that I like my skin to be moisturized and I like my skin to be completely devoid of dead skin cells because I am a germophobe and it really makes me uncomfortable to know that there are dead skin cells on my body even though I know that I can't help it. I just like to exfoliate as much as I can so that I don't feel as dirty throughout the week.

I know it seems weird but there's really nothing I can do. It's just how I feel about my body and my skin and it's really how I've always felt so I do not think it's going to change anytime soon (:

Well guys that is it for this post!

What kind of exfoliators do you use on your skin and how often do you use them? Let me know in the comments (:

This week is focusing on my favorite personal care products (: so let's get started!

Hair!

Shampoo!

I have been using this shampoo for about a year now and I am so in love with it. When I first started using it I was not sure what the whole natural thing was about but I am really happy that I found this line because it has helped my hair so much and it smells amazing! Click here to see my full review (:

Conditioner

So I just started using this conditioner because I had heard really great reviews on it so I decided to give it a try. And I really love this conditioner. It makes my hair really soft and it moisturizes it really well. Also since my hair is colored it keeps the color from fading.

Styling Product

I started using this product a few weeks ago and really love it. It moisturizes and sets my curls but it also keeps them from shrinking. Another thing is that it does not weigh my hair down. Also because it is so thick I do not have to redo my hair ever single day I can just apply a good amount one day and then the next few days I just add water to activate the product (:

Hair Mask

This is my favorite hair mask in the whole world (: I love the way it makes my hair feel and look after I use it. It is really thick and the scent is really great. I usually use this on my hair twice a week in order to keep my curls moisturized. If you want to see my full review on this product click here! Also click here to see how I apply the treatment to my hair!

Dry Shampoo

So my best friend in the whole world works at on of Paul Mitchell's salons and he is so amazing that he got me this for my birthday. I have used it ever since because I really feel like it get the roots of my hair clean for those in between wash days since I only wash my hair once or twice a week. All I do is spray it on my roots and fluff my hair and voila! (:

Skin Care! (Non-Facial)

Body Wash

This is my favorite body wash of all time! I got a sample of it in my iFabbo goodie bag an I loved it so much that I went and bought the full size once I ran out. The smell is so wonderful, it has coconut in it so it is going to be amazing anyway, and it gets my body clean without making it feel dry and tight (: Plus it has no sulfates or parabens! It does not get any better than that! (:

Body Scrub

So the body scrub that I use is actually a DIY that I make myself (: You can check out the recipe for that here (: I like using this scrub because it is all natural and I know there are no chemicals added and no processing involved (: plus it makes my skin feel really good.

Body Lotion

I started using this lotion about 6 months ago and I have been using it ever since. This lotion has a really great smell, it reminds me of flowers. The best thing about it, besides the price which is a startling $6.49 at Target, is that it is thick and it really moisturizes my skin.

Well guys that is it for this post!

#TheSkinProject: My Skin (:

So I am really late with this post but I am hope that Lianne will not be too mad at me -_- Also if you want to get involved with the #TheSkinProject or just want more information check out her post here (:

So this is going to be my first post in #TheSkinProject series and it is going to be all about my skin (:

So the two biggest problems that I have with my skin is that it is acne prone and it is also really sensitive. So I have to be very careful what I put on my face.

I remember being in high school and always having breakouts because no matter what I tried it never worked to keep my acne away and it was really annoying and frustrating. However recently I have had more and more luck with combating my acne which I am really happy about.

I would say that I am definitely a skin care beginner because all the way up to about a few months ago I thought I could just wash my face with soap and put some lotion on and I would be fine but I am learning that is definitely not the way to take proper care of my skin (:

The problem areas that I have are mostly my cheeks and I believe that is because of my cell phone and because I sleep on my sides so I am really working on trying to decrease the amount of oil and bacteria that sits on those areas.

As far as ageing is concerned I actually am not super concerned with that right now since I am only 20 but I am sure that it will not be a huge issue because I have notices that the women in my family age very gracefully thankfully (:

Well guys that is it for this post! (:

What are your skin care tips? Tell me in the comments below! (:

Be safe and I'll see you in my next post! (:
