BLOGGER BUDDIES SERIES: How To Create An Editorial Calendar

An editorial calendar is a schedule and/or list of posts, videos, tutorials or anything that, as a blogger, you want to put on your blog. It keeps you organized and on track which is critical when you are first starting and even after you gain a steady following.

There are many ways that you can do an editorial calendar but in this post I am going to show you haw I have chosen to do mine.

I use Google calendar because I can customize it to my liking and there a lot of different options that make staying organized easy for me.

So let's get started.

First you need to make a Google account if you do not already have one.

It is free to sign up to Google and once you do you have access to all of the services that it provides such as, e-mail, Google docs and YouTube.

Next you need to set up your calendar

When you search for Google calendar it will take you here. All you need to do now is create your calendar, meaning you give it a name.

Once you have your name you can give your calendar a color which comes in handy when you start creating multiple calendars.

Once you have your editorial calendar set up like I have, there are a few things that you must decide:

  • How often do you want to post
  • What kind of posts do you want to do
Ideally I post 6 times a week. My posts are recurring so it is easy for me to schedule.

This is how a week in my calendar looks.

I create the posts that I want to do has recurring events so that way all I have to do is go in and edit the event according to the post I want to do that week.

And it is that simple.

I do that for all of the posts I do for my blog. I include favorites in series posts on Thursdays and I always review products on Fridays, that way there's uniformity.

That is it for this post.

Was this tutorial helpful? Does it inspire you to start your own editorial calendar? Let me know in the comments!

Hello everyone, no I'm not dead.

I will be posting regularly again starting this week the only thing is that my posts my not be as long as they have been in the past but I will try my best for you guys!

Also, about my YouTube channel. I may not be doing videos for a while because I just don't have the time but I will be getting back on by the end of the semester.

REVIEW: Organix Dry Weightless Argan Oil Of Morocco

Oil can be very beneficial to hair. It is very smart, especially if you have curly hair, to use oil on your hair because certain oils can penetrate the hair shaft and moisturize from the inside out.

I have my go to oils but I like to try new ones every now and then.

This is one of the oils that I tried that I really like. Argan oil is fantastic for hair, if you would like to see my post on oils click here, and I have tried different avenues for it. One of my favorites being the dry oil from Organix.

What is really great about this product is that it is a spray. I have found that sprays tend to be lighter which is good because it does not cause as much buildup. Also if you have thinner hair like me then it will not weigh your hair down. Also, it is easier to apply because it is a spray

Another thing that I like about this product is the smell. Argan oil by itself has a great smell but I like that even with the added ingredients the smell is not over powering.

Moving on to how I use this product on my hair, it has a very different uses for me. The first is that I use it as a moisturizer. I tend to focus it more on my ends because they are drier than the rest of my hair but I notice that it does improve the quality of them.

Next I also use this product as a heat protectant when I straighten or blow dry my hair. Again focusing it more on my ends.

Sometimes I also use this product as a leave in for after I get out of the shower and do not feel like doing anything to my hair right away.

This product leaves my hair feeling, soft, smooth and moisturized without making it feel greasy and weighed down.

The last few things I love about this product, as with all Organix products, are the ingredients and the price.

Since Organix is an all natural line they do not use any kind of harsh chemicals in their products which is great for curly hair.

Also the price is great, under $7 if I am not mistaken.

Pros:
Good ingredients
Nice smell
Multiple uses
Spray form
Lightweight but moisturizing

Cons:
N/A

March Favorites!

This March I really did not get to try as many products and I would have liked to but I did try two conditioners that I really liked and made it into my favorites.

Let's get started.

First is the Suave conditioner and I tried the coconut scent.

I started using this conditioner after I ran out of my Organix coconut conditioner. What I like about it is that it does not have any harsh chemicals (sulfates, silicones etc.) that can be really bad for hair. Also it is a great price especially for how much product that you get.

Tresemmé Naturals is another conditioner that I have been using lately and I have been using these two conditioners together. I really like the mixture of these conditioners. Just like the Suave, this conditioner has no harsh chemicals and is really cheap but a huge container.

The reason I don't not have many favorites these month is because I am really starting to crack down on what I choose.

Have you tried/would like to try these conditioners? Let me know in the comments.

Be safe and I will see you in my next post.
