Irresistible Me Hair Extensions: Silky Touch Line Review

Hello loves!

I was recently approached by Irresitible Me to review their Silky Touch Hair Extension Line. Those of you who follow my blog know that I have never worn hair extensions before so this was particularly new for me. However, I said yes anyway because I was curious to try them out.

The color that I got for my extensions is silky medium brown #4, I got the 24 inches and 200g. For those of you that don't know, 200g just refers to how many wefts of hair are included. With the 24 inches only 200g is available which is the max amount. My hair when it is straight is 26 inches long from the top of my head to the ends so I needed the longest extensions they have.
After ordering my extensions shipment took around 3 to 4 days. The packaging was great and my extensions arrived in fantastic shape.

My hair is obviously very long, however, it is also very thin which is why I wanted to try the extensions in the first place.

Installing the extensions was probably the trickiest part for me because I wasn't sure exactly how to do it. The first time I put in all of the wefts and realized that I didn't have enough hair to cover them so you could clearly tell that I was wearing extensions. My remedy to this was to throw a beanie on (which actually worked pretty well).

While I was really happy with the results I noticed that at the end of the day I had a gigantic headache from the extensions tugging on my hair (remember my hair is extremely thin). Even though I loved the look and the volume the extensions added to my hair, wearing all of that weight on my head everyday is a no no.


The next time I wore them I only put in a few of the wefts (maybe five or six).












In order to keep the extensions from showing I put them in at the back of my head and more towards the bottom then I combed my hair back and over the wefts. This worked very well. Also, since I wasn't wearing all of the wefts I didn't get a headache but I still added some much needed volume to my hair.


The take-away: I can wear all of the wefts but I have to wear a hat when I do because I don't have enough hair to fully cover them. Also, since my hair is so thin I shouldn't wear all of the wefts everyday because I'll get a bad headache and I run the risk of tearing my hair out. If I only wear a few of the wefts I can still add volume to my hair without causing a headache and running the risk of losing hair.

Now that I've given you my experience it's time for the review.

Pros: 
Extensions are well made.
Real hair, can be manipulated using heat.
Durable should last for a while if taken care of properly.
Packaging was great!
Fast shipping time!
Comes with information on extensions including maintenance and care.
Blends well.

Cons:
Silky Touch line doesn't have many color options.
Only has 200g option for 24 inches of length.
Can be a bit out of price range.

Overall, I definitely would recommend these extensions if you're looking to try some out. You can purchase them off of the Irresistible Me Site.

No Heat Challenge Heatless Hairstyles: Keeping Hair Out of Your Face

Hello everyone!

Since I'm in school and I do a lot of writing throughout the day I like to keep my hair from falling in my face all day, it just makes it easier for me to concentrate.

So I am going to show you guys a few of the hairstyles that I do on days when I am in need of keeping my hair out of my face.

The first is a really simple pompadour.

My hair tends to get really flat at the top so this hairstyle keeps my hair out of my face and gives me some volume. 

Next is a flat twist. 

For those of you who don't know how to flat twist its just like french braiding but you're twisting your hair. As you're twisting your hair just pick up chunks of hair and add them to the twist. 

I like this one because it looks more interesting that just regular twist. 

Next is the half up half down style. 

So this is pretty self explanatory, you just split your hair in half (I actually prefer to do 1/3) and tie the top half up with an elastic. 

However since I like my hair to have some volume I pull at the hair to loosen it and give it some volume. 

The last style is what I like to the pull and pin. 

You just take the hair that frames your face, and has a tendency to fall into your eyes, pull it back and pin it in place with bobby pins. 

I like all of these styles and I pretty much rotate between them during the week.

Hey Curly Girls, Let's Talk: Moisturizers

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This post is going to be about moisturizers and what the best ways to moisturize your hair are.

We already know that curly hair is dryer than other types of hair because of the texture. So it is important that girls with curly hair invest in some good moisturizers and keep their hair moisturized because dry hair does not grow.

The number one best way to moisturize your hair quickly is water. Most girls who apply product to their hair at the beginning of the week only use water to refresh their hair and reactivate the products. This is a good time saving way to take care of your hair.

Another really good, obvious way to moisturize your hair is conditioner. You can read about the best conditioners for curly hair here. Obviously, we should all be conditioning our hair after washing but some girls like to leave some of their conditioner in their hair almost like a leave-in.

What is great about this method is it keeps you from buying extra product, but some girls need a little bit more moisture.

Which leads me to my next point, leave-in conditioners. Leave-in conditioners are products that you can leave-in your hair to keep it moisturized. They come in different intensities and they all aren't the same. I don't use a leave in conditioner as much as I used to.

In order to find the one that works for you, you have to know the kind of moisture that your hair needs. Is your hair really dry? Try a thicker leave-in. Frizz out of control? Try something with a little more hold.

Probably the best way to get moisture into your hair is to deep condition. If you want strong healthy hair, deep conditioning is so necessary especially if you have curly hair. It's the only way that you can get moisture really deep into your hair.

There are a lot of ways that you can deep condition, there are ones that you can buy from the store or you can make your own.  You can read about my favorite store bought deep conditioners here or read about how you can make your own!

Hairstyles for Lazy Day Hair

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

The first picture is after I finger detangled my hair and put it into twists and the second is after I took the twists out to style.

I am a college student and as such I have a lot of lazy days where I either:

• Don't want to comb my hair.
• or have not combed my hair in a week.

Now because I have so many lazy days throughout the semester I need a large repertoire of lazy day hairstyles.

I am going to show a few of them in this post so let's get started!

The first is the top knot.

This hairstyle is so easy and simple for me and I can dress it up or down depending on what I am doing that day.

Also I like my top knots to be a little messy, but that's just my preference. You can make this style as neat or messy as you like!

The next is a messy bun.

Messy buns are one of my favorite hairstyles for a lazy because they are simple and look like they took forever and no time at all at the same time.

I like to add a pompadour since I feel like buns without it make my look bald.

One of my staple lazy hairstyles is the side braid.

Now I love this style because I can pair it with so many things: a headband, a beanie anything really. Plus it's really cute.
